Maverick Center
Maverik Center of West Valley City is the home of the International Hockey League two-time champion Utah Grizzlies and is where the 2002 Winter Olympic ice hockey events.
The Maverik Center is a unique Ford Theatre which holds an audience as small as 3700, while a crowd of 12 000 could be just as comfortable in the main arena.
Because the 10 000 seat arena opened in September 1997, thousands of concerts and sporting events have been held there. The success of these places have been noticed by millions of members of the community and by industry publications nationwide. "Business Entertainment" Maverik Center ranks as the fourth highest grossing in the world in 1999.
Family Fitness Center
Located in Centennial Park and opened in 1999, 96 000 square foot Family Fitness Center is one of the main facilities fitness Salt Lake valley. With various tools, features, activities and classes, Family Fitness Center are a fitness state-of-the-art and recreation facilities.
The Family Fitness Center offers a swimming pool, leisure pool with waterslide state's highest court, indoor basketball and tennis, indoor track, Cardio equipment, weight room, rock climbing, dance and aerobics room, and play soft "edutainment" space for children.
Utah Cultural Celebration Center
Utah celebration at Riverfront Cultural Centre celebrates grand opening in 2003. $ 12 million facility features an outdoor amphitheater seating 1200, a 74 000 square foot Community Center Arts and Heritage Center, a beautiful art gallery, festival area and 28 acres of open field.
The Utah Cultural Celebration Center is dedicated to enrich and strengthen the community by promoting artistic expression, education, opportunities for economic development and celebration of human diversity.
Harman Senior Recreation Center
David and Grace Harman Family Home is the childhood home of Pete Harman, founder of Kentucky Fried Chicken, which was donated to the City for use as a senior recreation center. The house was originally built in 1918 and renovated in 1989 before Harman turned it over to the City.
Currently, the Harman Senior Recreation Center provides senior West Valley City resident with access to community resources and programs that enhance the dignity, independence support, encourage community involvement, and stimulate physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Stonebridge Golf Club
There simply is no better place to hold a golf tournament next to Stonebridge Golf Club. Located in West Valley City, a few minutes from the Salt Lake International Airport and downtown Salt Lake City, Stonebridge offers 27 holes of golf in the wet and wild links-style layout designed by U.S. Open champion and renowned course designer Johnny Miller. Named after the rustic red rock bridges that dot the course, Stonebridge features three challenging nines, each measuring nearly 3,600 feet from the tip, making it one of the longest and wettest courses in Utah. But if you are not a long hitter, do not worry, there are three other teeing areas for all levels of golfers.
West Ridge Golf Course
Opened in 1991 by West Valley City, West Ridge Golf Course, offering golf championship while providing views of the Salt Lake Valley and the majestic Wasatch Mountains. This program is currently closed for revitalization projects, and will reopen in summer 2013 with all-new layout.
Hale Centre Theatre
The Hale Centre Theatre at Harman Hall, the largest theater center-stage in North America, making its debut in theaters on October 1998.
The cast of local thespians performs professional drama written by Ruth and Nathan Hale, founder of the theater, as well as traditional drama and musicals.
41 900-square-foot facility is the first theater-in-half-built in the Salt Lake Valley in 36 years. Theater seats up to 560 people, innumerable effects can be produced by a second phase in the spin and lift.
